Beowulf, the epic poem, is fertile ground for fantasy RPG game masters—a creature that returns night after night to plague a king, the ripping off of a monstrous hand, the creature’s mother who seeks revenge, and a dragon so powerful the hero dies slaying it.

Beowulf Movies:
- Beowulf (1999) – Mad Max meets Beowulf! I went back and forth on whether or not I should admit I’ve seen this. Yes, I rented it back in the day. It’s terrible, I think—I don’t remember anything about it.
- Beowulf and Grendel (2005) – I haven’t seen this, but it appears to depart from the source material.
- Beowulf (2007) – An insane trip of a weird movie.
